After recycling, I usually just stop by da beach and go swimming to get cleaned up…….
But on this day, well………..um………..you’ll see……………..aloha
Restful Day At Beach After Recycling
Sometimes ya gotta REDUCE your energy level after working hard RECYCLING.
Went to beach…..swimming….now chillaxing……..
Aloha and a Hui Ho
The job of getting WaveRider Recycling up and ready for the next school year is 1/2 over…Me and my other doggie friends finished washing and prepping all the old recycle barrels and bins. Now we just got 20 new barrels to get ready for our HI5 2.0 launch on July 27th, 2011. We designed new and more easier accessible HI 5 barrels…
We get recycled 55 gallon plastic drum barrels and cur the inside top out, and then make a lid for either HI5 recycling, paper recycling, or general trash container….
Makes things so much easier…..Aloha
It is only Tuesday, Time for a little break from trying to BE GREEN.
I just heard about a new project around town and at Kealakehe High School in Kona, Hawaii called PROJECT GREEN………an environmental group designed to help raise awareness and do good stuff in the community…..
Maybe we will hear more in the future..
Aloha & A Hui Ho…
Lomi……………….
Aloha. Seems like I think I can take a break, & then. …… there is some more cans & bottles to recycle…..
Here in Hawaii, the govt. does pretty good with their HI5 program.
A lot of people though think RECYCLING is just about bottles, cans, and plastic bottles since you technically get 5 cents for each can. RECYCLING is about putting back into the USEABILTY stream anything that is still useful….
Isn’t that better than just digging a big hole (landfill) and dropping anything in there and hope that in 20 years it will decompose into organic matter?
REduce First, then ReUse, and then ReCycle.
Aloha
Aloha,
In just 15 minutes I filled up 2 big 55 gallon barrels of HI5 recycling (aluminum cans, plastic bottles, glass bottles) for WaveRider Recycling over at Kealakehe High School the other night. As a pup, it is pretty amazing the amount of stuff that humans create, and just “leave behind”.
REDUCE is a good motto…..I’m trying to get better„ you know„ use less bones and chew up less shoes…..
Seriously, take a look at how you can REDUCE by looking at the things you buy.
Do you really need the 24 pack or does it come in a Gallon size?
Or could ya just drink water out of a bowl like me…….
Aloha and A Hui Ho

Aloha,
You know, there’s only one good reason not to like DIGITAL CAMERAS„„
PEOPLE take pictures of some of the worst times in your life, or just those compromising situations„„like my pic here.
Anyway, I kinda like the big blue barrels i see popping up around the Big Island. They look clean and nice, they are BIG and deep, they stand out in a crowd, and they themselves came from RECYCLED stock. Here is a pic of one being re-used by WaveRider Recycling in Kona, Hawaii. It is good when we can RE-USE something like a big blue plastic barrel to RECYCLE other stuff from going in the landfill, and thus helping to malama our aina.
Aloha and a Hui Ho.
Recycle, Recycle, Recycle……that is what I mostly did yesterday here in Hawaii„no beach, did go swim in the county pool (until they figured out I was a only a dog).
The panorama pic shows all the recycle bins and barrels I was cleaning out..
The bins are used at Kealakehe High School for classroom recycling of Mixed Recycling (paper, cardboard, some plastics, some glass, and aluminum) and HI 5 Recycling (cans, bottles, plastic bottles).
The barrels are used around the school campus to catch HI 5 recycle….Because they are taller, they are a little harder for me to to work on ….But I persisted and did it..
People„, we need to REDUCE so we dont have to RECYCLE so much…..
Aloh and a Hui o Ho.
